Toms River Municipal Utilities Authority (TRMUA) Publicly Available Sewer Records
By proceeding with this request, you acknowledge the following:
1. Purpose of Request
This request is made pursuant to the New Jersey Open Public Records Act (OPRA), N.J.S.A. 47:1A-1 et seq., and is limited strictly to publicly available sewer-related records maintained by the Toms River Municipal Utilities Authority.
2. Examples of records
Examples of items available under OPRA from the TRMUA include (but are not limited to) the following:
- Sewer infrastructure
- Sewer Billing Invoices
- TRMUA related Operations
- Equipment
- Policies
- Personnel
- General Information
Examples of items the TRMUA does not have available under OPRA:
- Police Body Cam footage
- Accident reports that do not involve TRMUA equipment, vehicles, personnel, or Property
- Open and closed Building Permits
- Township code violations (other than Oil and Grease)
- Water Billing
3. Exemptions and Redactions
Certain records or portions of records may be exempt from disclosure under OPRA or other applicable laws. The Authority reserves the right to redact or withhold information, including but not limited to:
- Personal identifying information
- Security-sensitive infrastructure details
- Privileged or confidential communications
4. Accuracy of Information
The requester is responsible for providing accurate and complete information to facilitate the records search. Incomplete or vague requests may result in delays or denial.
5. Response Time
Responses will be provided within the time frame required by OPRA (generally 7 business days), unless an extension is permitted by law.
6. Fees and Costs
- Digital Delivery – No Cost
- Letter size pages – $0.05 per page
- Legal size pages – $0.07 per page
- Physical Media (CD, DVD, Flash Drives, etc) – actual cost of material
- Delivery: Delivery / postage fees additional depending upon delivery type.
- Extras: Special service charge dependent upon request.
7. No Legal Reliance
Records provided are for informational purposes only and should not be relied upon as legal, engineering, or survey documentation.
The Toms River Municipal Utilities Authority makes no guarantees regarding completeness or accuracy.
8. Limitation of Liability
The Toms River Municipal Utilities Authority shall not be held liable for any errors, omissions, or damages arising from the use or interpretation of the records provided.
